This Friday January 15th all Broward County libraries, county parks, landfills and several animal shelters will be closed. Budget cuts have forced the county government to close as part of their cost-cutting measures in order to cope with the $106 million deficit. This is the first of five scheduled days off to come for county employees. They’ll be forced to take these pre-scheduled days off without pay. County offices will also be closed on Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday.
County parks will be closed, too.
The Southwest Regional Landfill will be closed and trash transfer stations in Pompano Beach, West Park and Davie.
But you’ll be able to play golf at Tradewinds, C.B.Smith
Butterfly World and Quiet Waters Parks.
