There are several job opportunities available to kids now to earn tips while they earn an hourly income.
This is a great way for kids be rewarded for making an extra effort or just working with a smile and making sure the customer has everything they need. It also helps teach them that working hard is worth it.
Being a waiter or waitress, a pizza delivery driver, pouring coffee and making burgers. These kids are working hard for those tips, since their hours are cut short if business is slow. Managers will send employees home hours before their scheduled shift was suppose to end.
There is so much going on, behind the scenes, that these kids are keeping up on to make sure that your experience in their establishment is worthy of leaving a tip. Managers are making sure they are never standing still to gossip, employees need to keep busy. This is a wonderful time to help instill good work values, and the importance of a job done well.
If you do not tip because you feel these kids get an hourly wage. That is correct, and they should be there doing the duties required to earn that hourly wage. But, what a wonderful time to help promote and teach to these kids what a little extra effort in the work place can bring.
We show our appreciation by tipping. Kids are motivated by money. If they don’t know they are being taught a lesson, teenagers are more likely to be open to the lesson.
So, if you have a chance to let a teenager know you appreciated the hard work they put into making sure your dinning experience was the best it could be, tip them, and then see how much better your next visit is.
Teenagers will always remember who gave them a tip for a job well done.
